Niamh worked with Brown Bag Films in developing the Walker Books published picturebook, 'I’m a Happy Hugglewug' for the screen.
Brown Bag pitched the idea to Disney Junior in 2013 and the preschool show has been produced in the Dublin based animation studio.
The Henry Hugglemonster series follows the adventures of fun-loving, five year old Henry Hugglemonster, the middle child in a happy, wacky close-knit monster family – The Hugglemonsters.
Niamh was involved in the development process from the start, developing a narrative arc for the series that wasn’t in the original book, working closely with Director Norton Virgien, and the Brown Bag team.
The 3D CG series brilliantly retains the illustration style of the original book.
Each episode is eleven minutes long, and there are forty-two episodes in Season Two.
The British voice cast includes A-list actors such as Brenda Blethyn and Brian Blessed, and even includes a guest turn by Ginger Spice Geri Halliwell as a monster pop star.
While Joan Rivers joined the American voice cast as Mimi Monstermouth, wisecracking and talented pastry chef and a daycare teacher.
As well as having an executive producer credit on the show, Niamh directed two episodes in Season Two - A Halloween special and a Christmas special, one of which, 'Huggleween Moon' was awarded an Irish Design Award 2016 in the CG category.
